Whats the best way to potty train a 6 month puppy2007-11-25 2:54:34

Me and my GF have a 6 month welch Terrier hes a great boy and is learning things fast, the only thing is he keeps urintaing and pooping in the house, we have tryed putting his nose in it but he keeps going to the bathroom inside, also he cannot stand being in his crate and seems like hes scared of it, and follows us both around where ever we go even when we get him to stay.

my puppy learned off my 3 year old dog. He is 6 months but the pair of them use the cat-flap so they can go in and out whenever they like!

puppies use the bathroom in about 30 mins after they are done. they usually pee right after they drink water and i have a puppy myself and im training him like this : every time i wake up i take him outside and since he doesnt like to be looked at i just go inside and leave him out in the back yard. then im constantly watching him becasue he smells the floor and everywhere so i know he wants to go again. the training varies in gender males just pee everywhere and are more hard to train.

NEVER punish your dog for going potty in the house your just scaring him! Take him out side every 30 min and give him a treat when he goes potty letting him know he did a good job, when you not home you must crate him or he'll just go potty in the house. I just got my puppy potty trained that way NO its not easy but my dog now scratches at the door to go outside!

Crate training is truly the best way but if you don't want to do that here is another option.
