Whats the deal with Boxers & Pit Bulls
Whats the deal with Boxers & Pit Bulls2007-11-25 2:54:37
You have to remember if a person is training a pit they can't have other dogs beating up on it, it's got to be an unfair fight at first, to encourage a dog to win.
But the mass majority of bait dogs are pits or pit mixes who are very young and small, or dogs who have sustained alot of wounds and can not put up a fair fight
also remember the majority of pit bulls are pet or dogs people keep to look cool , most people don't fight them ,I have seen thouisands at the dog pound and about 1% show fight marks and these are still people friendly animals
A bait dog is tied to a wall on a short leash to allow the Pit to shred it with out the other dog being able to defend it's self. This practice is disgusting and illegal.People who do this should be tied down, covered in honey and have ants poured on them. I don't know about boxers being used. from my understanding they use weaker pits as bait. Boxers are a lot less aggressive and similar in size but cost a whole lot more money than any pit.
That is a very good question. The truth is Pit Bulls are mistakinly thought of aggressive dogs. And the Boxers are one of the most thought of toughest dogs too. So people say that really saying Pit Bulls are tougher than Boxers. It is really not a fact!
well ihave a rednose pitbull who is now about 10 months old,,,he dont have to train with no boxers,,,,i simply take em around more pitbulls...prob were u live they train there pits with boxers becuase boxers will put up a fight even though the pitbulls will destroy the boxer in about 5mins,,,,,,its just another way of "pitbull pre-fight practice"..!
i think it is because a boxer resembles a pit in many ways and no fighter is going to use one of his other pits to train. they don't want to risk injury to their "good ones." i hate dog fighting it is the worst thing you can put a dog through. they didn't do anything to anyone and now they are being fought and killed. sorry didn't mean to go off on you. hope i helped answer ur question. hope you don't fight dogs
My boxer, who was put to sleep at12&1/2 years old, was the best dog I have ever known. I was forced to research because of his stubborness as a pup. In calling breeders, reading books, etc., I found that they are known to be great family dogs, AFTER a long stubborn childhood. They will not give up. They have a higher lb.per Sq.inch bite than the pits. I am sure they are using younger boxers for this filthy task. Their muscular bodies, youthful tenacity makes it hard for them to quit once the fight has been initiated. Boxers are people dogs, mine could not abide the site of another four legged creature. However, after a mis-spent youth, he was the best watch dog, would only attack if one of his peple was in danger, was great at vicious enough sounds nobody messed with my home, would politely let my hard of hearing mother know if someone was around the house, and entertain the heck out of kids. Sorry. did not mean this to turn into an obit for my dog. Caught a glimpse at one of the anwers and decied to edit. All dogs are thought by vets and other sources to be color-blind. They have added so many color combos to both breeds in the last 20 years, I just don't think color is an issue.
As a pit bull owner I find this whole thing wrong and disgusting. But I have done my research a bait dog is not always tied sometimes they just duct tape their mouths closed. They usually use a dog they would consider to be a cur. This is so that a dog new or newer to a box is able to build it's confidence by killing another dog. I have not read a lot about or heard a lot about Boxers in general my guess would be they are close in build and agility. A lot of people training will use a pit they see as not good some people are dumb enough to use what ever dog they can. It's sad and disgusting believe it or not some people will steal other peoples dogs for this purpose or another persons pit to see if it's "game" I keep a close eye on my dog when it's in the yard always. Better safe than sorry. There are a few videos out there about pit fighting and the extremes people go to. I own one it's not a pretty thing my dogs are and they will stay that way house dogs.
One of the main reasons people chose boxers for "bait"dogs, is because, on the norm, boxer are not an aggressive breed. Yes they bark and growl, but when approached, they back off. One reason they usually fail the tests for police/attack dogs. I have a boxer and most of my friends, that is the only breed they will have and breed.
