Whats up with pomeranians2007-11-25 2:54:41

is it just me or do they really like attention?? i mean.. i have a beagle and i already know he loves attention.. but my pomeranian won't sleep unless i sleep in the same room as him. and that means that i've been sleeping on the couch for the past two weeks. =/ i know i should just put him in my room, but i already did that and it turned out bad. and i know when he barks i should just ignore him. but i don't wanna sleep on the couch anymore!!!

Put the dogs in crates and take back your bed. Get earplugs.

Is your pomeranian a puppy. My boston terrier did that for several weeks and i was like you getting tired of it quick. We used a big stuffed animal and put it in with her and she felt like she had a mate and not so lonely. I started with her kennel beside me in our bedroom. I would have to sleep next to the kennel with my fingers through and touching her. next we worked a little further away no fingers, next i scooted further away, then more, and finally i was able to sleep in my bed some time until she realized i snuck away from her. she wanted to be able to see me at all times. well this went on for about 2 weeks and i just finally took the final step but the kennel where i wanted to stay for good and let her cry and whine until she finally fell asleep. after about 3 nights she was fine. now she has her kennel in the livingroom and we all sleep in our bedrooms. once she stays potty train and out of puppy stage where i can trust her she will be able to run free and sleep where ever she wants to but for now shes there. I would just do the same thing. put him in his kennel or crate park him in the livingroom and go to bed, he will get tired were himself out and go to sleep and realize hey im not in charge my parents are. this is what they said and this what i got to do and get over it. it will work

well they were bred to be companion dogs so they demand a lot more attention than hunting dogs like beagles. My friend has an Italian Greyhound and that dog is attached to her hip but he does not have separation anxiety or anything. She makes him sleep in his crate at night next to her bed and she always makes him do tricks to earn his food. She never gives him attention when he demands it, it is always on her terms. It is an amazing thing to see because the dog never complains, he just accepts it and is happy because he knows his place
