Whats with my boston terrier2007-11-25 2:54:42

My boston terrier doesnt look a normal boston terrier we dont feed him human food but he is so chubby. is that normal or not because u look at other boston terriers and they are really skiny.

Check your dogfood.. You might be feeding a high fat content, or a crappy dogfood that causes them to have to over eat in order to get their nutrition..

Dogs need exercise.. Just like people you can't continue to eat and stay in shape, if you don't get proper exercise.

Get out there with him and get some exercise.. perfect time of year, so you have no excuses.

You DEFINITLY shouldn't feed ANY breed of dog human food. But i think your dog is just fat. feeding them tuna and eggs are okay but dont give them other really fatty foods like ham or bread. the occasional treat (ham/bread) is okay but not all the time and you definitly shouldnt have your dog eat all the table scraps.

You did not mention the age or weight of your dog, so I cannot give you specifics, but it sounds like you are feeding him too much.

Many dogs don't self regulate their eating very well and need to have their meals measured out for them. Find out from your vet or from the site below how much your dog should be eating in a day and then feed him once or twice a day.

hhmmm.are you sure you have the right breed in mind? when I think of a "real skinny breed" saluki's, whippets, italian greyhounds cross my mind. Boston's tend to have a "bully breed" build which is thick & muscular and anything but "skinny"
