Whats wring with my dog My corgi mix cant run or jump2007-11-25 2:53:57

My 7 year old corgi mix used to spend as much time on his back legs as on all fours. he would sit up for treats, jump on my leg, jump into and out of the car, jump on the couch and climb up to my face and he would run around when ever I took him out and loves to play fetch.

All of a suden he acts hurt. He tries to sit up but can't. I took him to the vet sho said it could be arthritis but couldn't tell without an x ray. She gave me doggie asprin which he has been taken and he's better but not 100%. He doesn't run or even walk as fast as he used to and he'll jump on the couch to sit next to me, but he won't stand up and lean on me.

He is just getting a little old and weak in the joints, thats all. You shouldn't let him hop up and ddown again if he tries to, OK?

If it's sudden, he probably twisted or sprained something. I would go for the X ray to try and diagnose the problem so you can treat it before it gets worse.

If they decide it is arthritis or old age...try using glucosamine on top of the pain relievers and medications they give you.

Yes, it does sound like arthritis or a back injury. If your dog usd to stand on his back legs alot it could be a slipped disk or pinched nerve. The asprin will reduce the swelling and help the dog to move and feel better temporarily. Even though they are really cute standing up on two legs it is not good for their spine.
