I believe that corgis are one of those breeds that have shorter legs and longer backs. That makes them prone to back injuries. I would have the x-rays done and make sure that you dog hans't injured his spine with all the running and jumping. Your vet may very well be right about the arthritis, but I'd check his back too.

Well, since he is 7 years old, it might be that he's getting old and that he (and you) shouldn't stress him as much.

He is 7yrs old..Well sound's like he is probably experiencing old age and artritus he may have some joint problems as well try giving him some joint supplements..Honestly at 7yrs of age he is no longer a puppy or a young dog you need to expect this to start happening..

Hes getting old.I have a Mastiff who from time to time would limp like he was hurt this happens in big dogs authritis the hips but what I did is put some whole milk in his water for a couple days and he doesnt do this anymore.Some dogs stay active till the day they pass and some dogs bodies just say Im tired I gave them 7 years of happiness and fun now Im tired.Your dog is 56 now and hes tired but I would still try some milk.Or you may invest in the xrays.But most vets can usually tell without doing them.

7 years old for a corgi is not old, they age much slower than a larger breed, in actual adjustment for age age and breed he would 40 year old so would only middle age, if he was a great dane than yes he would be a senior. a corgis lifespan is about 16 to 18 years old compare to the greatdane which is 10 to 12, even in a greyhound I still consider them middle age at 7 so if they develop a problem then it needs investigating, because they should still be very athletic at even 9 years old. And arthritis really should not be an issue just yet, it is likely a joint problem.
