Whats wrong with my puppy :O(2007-11-25 2:53:59

A couple of months ago my puppy had a day where he threw up several times in one day, I felt horrible for him, but the next day he was perfectly fine again.

Make an appointment to see the vet. Explain to the vet how worried you are that the dog is not acting normal and ask to have him examined.

Sounds like some sort of stomach disorder. Take note of what you are feeding him, hopefully it is puppy food and not adult dog food. I would give him plenty of water and if he doesn't begin feeling better within the next 12-24 hours, I'd definitely take him to see a vet.

It could be several things from worms to eating something he didn't digest right. He could be coming down with a disease. Toy breeds get low blood sugar easily so they should only eat good quality dog food as pups, not people food. I almost killed my Toy Poodle pup by giving him part of my lunch then he didn't eat his dinner. Take him and his poop to a vet if he continues to act draggy..

He may have worms which is normal in puppies. Mine threw up 14 times in 2 hours until eventually a worm came out. The best thing is to contact a vet, maybe a different one since the first one wasn't helpful. It's not a big deal, he'll just give your pup some medicine and he'll be ok in no time.

I really wouldnt be able to tell you what is wrong with your pup, I am not a vet but, I am the mommy of two APBTs, one of wich almost died the day we got her!.. She is 4 months old now but when we got her she was only 8 weeks!.. We went and picked her up about a hour from where we live.. on the was home she was shaking alot and then she threw up. I thought it was just nervs but we got home and she would eat or drink, she wouldnt do anything but sleep! We thought it was just because she was so young and in a new home. So as the day went on nothing really got better, then she started to sneez and cough, she sounded conjested and her tummy looked like she ate a basket ball!.. so we took her to an emergency vet to see if mabey she had a cold... So we got to the vet and they told us that if we didnt bring her in when we did, she would have died!.. I guess the people we got her from werent taking care of her, she had every kind of worm a dog can get and she had really bad fleas! She had to have a blood transfusion and was on alot of meds! In a few days she was like a whole new puppy! She was eating and drinking and playing all the time!... Then just recently (shes about 4 months now) she threw up about three times in one day and I noticed that her belly looked big again! I freaked out! lol! I thought she had worms again and was going to die!.. I called my mom to see if she thought I need to go see the vet and she told me to give her this de-wormer stuff that I had at my house for our 1 year old APBT... so I gave her that, she only threw up one more time after that and then the next few times she went to go potty she pooped out worms. She has been acting normal now and her tummy isnt so big anymore... ANYWAY.. lol.. my point was, she might have worms (i didnt tell you that 1st story to scare you, the only reason she almost died was because the people we got her from didnt do anything about the worms and they got REALLY bad! Plus she was only 8 weeks old.. if your pups has worms, its not a big deal if you just give them some kind of de-wormer) OR she could have just eaten something that upset her tummy... Puppys get into alot of stuff and every dog will throw up or get an upset tummy every now and then. If I were you, next time your pup goes to the bathroom (i know its nasty lol) just check and see if you see any worms. If you already called your vet and they didnt think anything was wrong, it might just be that your puppy isnt feeling very good and it should go away, but if you see worms or she gets worse (like not eating or drinking) or would call the vet again or go see them...
