Whats wrong with my tibetian spaniel
My four-legged baby has started showing fits like epilepsy from the age of two months, now he is almost 2 years old. And still getting these fits for no apparent reason
Now he started showing signs of joints pains, and sometimes he collapses for no apparent reason, it is as if his legs just let go. He is Tibetian spaniel.
He would be running up the stairs, he would stop in the middle and not move, and after 3 minutes he moves, I cry every time he gets the epileptic like fit I hug him and cover him with a quilt and keep telling him not to fight it. He does not bite his tongue during the fit, his eyes goes half way up and he shake involuntarily; he fights this feeling and tries to stand but collapses. Took him to so many doctors and they all could not figure what is wrong with him did blood test and lots of x-rays no use; I would die if anything happens to him. If you have ever seen this before please advice me
Answers:I agree you need to see a specialist in Internal Medicine and/or Cardiology. Collapsing while running can be a sign of heart problems. A liver shunt should show up on blood work.
Did any of your veterinarians try a trial of anti-epileptic medication to see if it helped?
The joint pain may or may not be related. Has he been tested for Lyme disease?
Hugging him and talking to him is not going to solve his problem - you need to seek the advice of a Board-Certified Specialist. Your average veterinarian is just going to do routine blood work and xrays and say "I don't know what's wrong." Sounds like he may need an echocardiogram and/or an MRI.
