Startle barking occurs in response to an unfamiliar or sudden sound or movement. As with an alert/warning bark, we need to be able to control this type of barking quickly.

As you can see, there are many reasons for barking and most barking is a normal behavior. There are some instances in which barking is considered pathological. Whatever the reason, barking can be a nuisance. If your dog barks excessively, a bark collar is an excellent tool to get excessive barking under control.

Why would she stop barking? She gets rewarded for it with people food. Sounds like your dog has trained you really well. If you want the behavior to stop, put her in another room when she barks, and don't feed her people food anymore.

I didn't say put her in another room when she EATS, I said put her in another room when she BARKS. She barks for attention. If barking gets her the opposite of attention, she will stop. And I doubt this person is going to be able to make the dog lie down in another part of the room at this point, the dog is already in control.
