That is very "A" typical for puppies starting out on a leash. Take some treats with or cooked chicken take her out when she lays down in a high happy voice tell her to come and show her the treat. When she comes to you, give it to her with lot of verbal praise and keep walking with the treat in front of her nose. Before you and she realize it she'll be walking keep up with the happy verbal praise. Happy trails;^)

How would you like to be yanked around by the neck by someone many times your size? That's how she feels.

To start with let her get used to the leash in the house. Don't turn her loose with it on without supervision because she could get hanged on something but let her wear it and then come to you for a treat. Then hold the leash and offer her treats to walk inside. Do not pull her by the neck. Let her lead you and you follow her inside and outside at first. For many pups a harness works better than a collar and leash especially at first and is safer. Try a flexi leash (longer, lighter leash that has a handle and a stop button so she has more freedom and is still under your control.

I currently have a puppy too. You just need to let the dog walk around the house with his collar and leash on. No, there not being lazy they just dont understand what you want. And when she gets used to the leash sit on the floor about five feet from her and call her when she comes reward her. This may take time be patient.

If the puppy gets out ahead, turn around and go the opposite direction. Then the puppy will be a happy balanced dog.
