When a dog is pregnant do all of her teets swell or just the ones lower tho her abdomin2007-11-25 2:54:02Answers:

Kim, how do you know she is breeding her dogs? I am also sick and tired of all the people coming on here daily and preaching about all the dogs at the pound. Why are they there? Think before you accuse, or at least have some facts.

It's not swelling.. It's milk coming in. The back ones will fill first but the majority of milk doesn't come in until the last week or so. Why are you breeding your dog if you don't already know these things?

Are you just going to wing it in raising the litter too? Learn as you go putting the life of your b itch and the litter in danger?

I am so sick of all the Y-questions coming from people who are breeding their so called loved pets with ignorance.

Spend the day looking at rescue sites on the web. Puppy mills, There are 50,000 to 70,000 pets put to sleep each DAY because of people breeding with no clue and no care.

I guess I just assumed you did not know what you are doing. It's a reaction I have after reading all the questions here daily from people who are mindlessly breeding their dogs. If people do a search for Pups for sale, you would litterally find THOUSANDS of ads on hundreds of web sites and it gets a little tiring when only 1% of all puppies available for adoption are coming from someone reputable who knows what they are doing and has gone through all the correct motions before they produce a litter. The rest of the dogs available are put into the hands of someone else who doesn't have a clue and are bred the same way. When you think of all the dogs and cats getting that lethal shot daily it is hard not to jump to conclusions when you see questions like this. I'm sorry to have offended you. I'm just sick of the ignorance of people when it comes to breeding.

They do all fill with milk eventually, but not always evenly. I'm not sure why this is, but I'm guessing there's just more room near the back end after the babies are born. The skin is tighter around the chest area.
All of her teats will have milk, but, all my females have bigger ones in the back it seems. There is more tissue there, so, I expect more milk can accumulate there. Closer to the time she is ready to whelp, you will be able to squeeze them, and milk will come out. Keep checking regularly for mastitis.
All of the udders can excrete milk, but the lower ones do have more. Sometimes the highest ones don't even get milk after the birth.
all should swell.but mostly rear abdomen!

GL :-)

It depend's on how far along she is. Normally just the back ones harden untill 3 days till her due date. Then her milk & belly will drop.
