You can't see or feel the puppies until very late on in pregnancy. Sometimes you very rarely feel the pups unless you sit for hours with your hand on her stomach when you might be lucky to feel a kick - ot you might not.. You can see the pups when the dam lies on her side & there a small ripples along her flank. Much depends on the breed, how much fat she is carrying & how many pups. If it is a very big litter, the pups don't have room to move around much & if it is only one, you'll be lucky to feel/see it.
Sometimes if you put your hand palm side down on the mother tummy you may be able to feel the puppies move. It will take her being pregnant for at least 28 to 32 days to able to feel this. If you do it is a very awesome thing to feel.
wish I could say I have. I have never felt or seen puppies moving inside my dogs. I don't think I have the touch for that. I even tried while she was in labor lol. A lot of breeder can ...some can ever tell how many males and females are there . by their heart beats. I was lucky to even hear a heart beat. I don't know how they do it. I never had the act.
It is really hard to see them moving but if you get your dog on her back you can look and see if you see anything the puppies would be in the lower part of their stomach. You can feel the lower part and see if you can feel them moving around. It depends on what point in the pregnency though.
I have a dog that I think is about 6 weeks pregnant too and I think I felt her pups move the other day. The strange thing is, her nipples are big and she is big around the rib cage, but not to much bigger in the stomach. Is this normal?
yes you can feel them move, you put your hand flat on the dog's belly press but not to hard, hold it there for a while, it feels like they are rolling, it's so wonderful
