when the tester sign is (+), she had to have nuzzled more than a human... is/were there any male dogs smelling around???
Sad to say, I have to agree with some of the others who replied in that it sounds as though you know little about dogs and should not have bred her. Also, at her age it's risky at best. Please, please, please get her to a vet!
That being said, you should be able to tell by the time she is 43 days along.Generally they dont start producing the ambiotic fluid till day 33 that is why there is such huge growth from day 33 to 43 when they reach full ambiotic fluid. She will fill in, tummy will feel firm, teets will fill in near the last couple of weeks, she will have a huge appetite, and yes the personallity sometimes changes. Also the last couple of weeks you should feel movement as the pups sift to get into position preparing for delivery. She will need a safe, warm, quiet place to have the pups and I can not stress this enough - Veterinary care! Hope that helps and good luck!
Other signs are her trying to find a safe place to have her pups they normally make a nest and take care of other things like toys and shoes. Normally at 8 years of age they can't have any more pups because there to old.
First of all, dogs should not be bred after 7 years of age, even if they are in good health. They should be spayed the minute they turn 7.
Secondly, if you are not aware of if she could be pregnant or not, that means you have been irresponsible during her heat cycle and that right there is cause for concern.
Go get her spayed, and spare her the trauma of having a litter when she is too old.
Dogs are only pregnant for 2 mo so mated for a year is all wrong. No dog 8 yr old should have pups anyway. It will likely kill her. Let the vet check to see of she is pregnant and if not, have her spayed ASAP!
