Many Blessings
I had a dog for 13 years before she was hit by a car and killed.
It's been 4 years now since she died but now and then if I think about her too much I do cry. Time does heal the initial pain but I think I will always miss her.
I lost my cat, patches last November. I've had her for close to 8 years and she had lymphoma and leukemia. Personally as a spiritual person and completely non religious, i believe that once an animal makes a connection with its owner it never leaves them. either dead or alive your animal is with you and will always be with you. Scruffy loves you and wouldn't leave you, just like you wouldn't leave him. Have a little faith hes watching you. It will get easier you should try talking to him. I know its weird but, i totally talk to Patches all the time. even if she isn't listening it helps me knowing that she is there. also memories are good scruffy wouldn't want to forget you and deep down you would never want to forget him. Just know that hes there just in spirit.
I am sorry for your loss. As you will miss Scruffy, but time heals most all wounds. I believe that no other animal can replace him for you. It is great that you have a place in your heart for Precious and that everyone deals with the loss of a pet in their own way and time, there should not be a set amount of time, I don't think. You can choose to remember all the good times and go on with better times to come with Precious. Animals are our friends too:)
My condolences for your loss. I think that you starting to cry for no reason is not just caused by the loss of Scruffy. You have been through a lot lately, also radiation treatment has side effects that I would look into. Precious will never be Scruffy, Scruffy was one of a kind, just accept Precious as she is and love all the differences. Moving to another house would be extreme. I know that you have lots of memories there of your beloved pouch, but aren't you going to make new memories now with Precious and whatever puppies she may bring? Listen really talk with your doctor about what you are feeling and perhaps he can prescribe something to help you for moment. Remember all this could just be a side effect of everything you have just been through.
its ok! *pat pat*
