Just like losing any loved one, the pain of losing a pet doesn't go away, it just lessens over time. You do however, need to move on and let him go. Don't try to get one just like Scruffy, because you never will. Scruffy was a one of kind, and if you keep trying to clone him, you will continulally be disappointed. Instead, appreciate the uniquness of your new dog and any new dog in the future. You won't ever be disappointed if you make up your mind that you are happy with any dog that you get. Moving away doesn't help, but moving on does. Remember him for what he was and remember that you share a very special relationship and he loved you with all his heart. And go on to do that with a new dog.

go to petloss.com and type a post about scruffy , this site is excellent and the people are great and they will help you deal with the loss of scruffy. I found this site after i lost my cat a few weeks ago, i had to have her euthanized because she was sick even though she was only 4 years old.

I have a friend who has a dog named scruffy.

It takes time. I lost my lab a few monthes ago and I still think about it and get upset. I've gotten another dog but he doesn't match up to my other one...

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. I lost a precious dog of mine to old age. It took me about 6 years to fully recover from it.
