When is it safe to take a 7 week old puppy into a disinfected parvo house
3 weeks ago my puppy died of parvo. I got a new puppy. When can I bring him into my parvo apartment? I disinfected.
Answers:Parvo can live for up to 9 months in the environment. It's extremely difficult to completely disinfect the entire house, seeing as you can't really see germs.
First, you need to take your new puppy to the vet to see how susceptible he is to Parvo. If it's likely that he will contract Parvo, then DO NOT bring it into your house. Don't even bring him into your yard (if you have one).
NO, get him innoculated first.
I would call the vet to make sure. Also check with him you used the right product to kill the parvo germs.
Parvo is a VERY VERY bad bug that is extremely hard to kill.
If a dog with Parvo walks across your yard and 6months later a susceptible dog walks across where the previous infected dog had walked. . . BINGO,that dog gets Parvo.
Talk with a vet about how you disinfected your place and see if it is adequate and if not ask him what else you can do.
Do not bring in ur new puppy until u have consulted a vet. I wouldn`t take a puppy anywhere until he has had his first shots, especially somewhere the parvo virus might still be lingering. Only a professional can advise u on this matter, do nothing until u get the ok from him.
I just had 4 puppies with parvo and although they did get better, which i have been told does not happen very ofter, but the said not to take another unvacinated puppie into our home for 2 years and even if it is vaccinated it may not help them not get it.
I would say after you have all 3 sets of vaccinations. You can start getting them at 6 weeks.

i wouldnt recommend it... that wasnt smart to get such a young pup right now.
