When you have a puppy and it 6 months old do it learn by it self to left up there leg2007-11-25 2:54:09

I have a 6 months puppy and he have not left his leg yet and i want just wanted to know if he will or do i have to show him how to go it .

Lol He will just start doing it. It will come with maturity. It normally starts when your boy gets to the age where the want to mark territory or show off dominance if you have a very submissive boy he may never do it.. It is instinct.

He know to do it once he's sexually mature. However, some dogs don't ever do it, no one really knows why.

Please get your dog neutered!

he will just start doing it himself. my westie is 11 months and on lazy days sometimes he still chooses to squat.

Some dogs that are neutered never end up lifting their leg, which is probably a good thing but you dont have to show them, they know how to do it naturally

I have a 3 month old male who lifts his leg and a 4 year old female who lifts her leg. *LOL* My other 2 males wre 6 months and 5 months. It will happen when the time is right. Sometimes I have been told if they are neutered very early they never do.
