Cause they are scared. We had an American Pittbull for 14 years, and whenever it rained, you could NOT budge his 100lb. butt from his dog house, he was TERRIFIED. But at the same time, we had a German Shepard and the big goof would sleep in the rain, he loved it!

All dogs are different, just like people. :)

it could be a few things. one would be anxiety towards thunderstorms. another could just be that the can sense you do not want to go out either.:)

Mine are the same way. I think they don't like to get their feet wet. They don't like to go out in the snow either.

try going outside without an umbrella in your underwear - that might explain it =)

my sheltie of 9 years would hold her bladder and bowel for the entire day when it rains, on the other hand my corgi doesn't mind. some dogs just don't like being out in the rain.

Dogs have a wider range of frequencies that they can hear. Their hearing is very sensitive to things such as thunder. They can hear things we can't. I think that a long with their sense of smell makes them anxious. My dog just hates getting wet.
