Where Can I Adopt and Buy The Target Dog
and how much would it cost? He's soooo cute :-)
Answers:Buy a bulldog, shave and paint him (or her) white then make the bullseye. The pound has a bunch of 'em. Careful though, you'll also need a cage - you can't get your car dirty.
the target dog is a bull terrier
by a jack russell and paint him
You do not buy or adopt a dog based on cuteness. You get a dog because you have a specific need for that dog and you get one based on temperament first and everything else last.
This is why I hate dogs in commercials or on TV shows. All of a sudden everyone wants one because it's "cute" or "funny" or "in", and more than half the people who obtain the breed have no idea what the dog's needs are. Then they end up in shelters in a year or so, because the dog's needs were more than the owner could handle. Before you purchase ANY purebred dog you need to research the breed, what the care requirements are, and what it's temperament is like, and make sure that those requirements are something that you can provide. There are many breeds of dog that I would love to have and I don't because I know they would not work out with my lifestyle.
Now that I'm done my soapbox, I'll tell you a bit about Bull Terriers. They're a "bully breed", and as such they can be a bit stubborn and hard to train. They are also very "busy" dogs. Thye *need* something to do. Very active, they are not the type of puppy or dog who is just content to lay around. They're always getting into something. As active, busy dogs, they DO NOT do well AT ALL in homes where people are out of the house for long periods (6-8 hours a day). In these homes, Bull Terriers become neurotic, destructive, and loud, barking, engaging in destructive chewing, and obsessive compulsive licking disorders to give themselves huge sores on their legs and feet. Bull Terriers become very very attatched to their families, which makes them good guard dogs, BUT - (There is always a but) it's because of this trait that you want to make sure you socialize a Bull Terrier VERY WELL as a puppy, or else you run the risk of having an over-protective, jealous dog that won't let anyone, be it friend or foe, in your house, and won't let your friends/relatives give you hugs. Bull Terriers who have not been altered, as a rule, do not get along with other animals and especially not other dogs. Bull Terriers are prone to horrible allergies that affect their skin and coat, severe lameness due to their compact, extremely muscular build, and a seizure disorder. This seizure disorder is the one reason you want to make absolutely certain when you buy a Bull Terrier that the parents have had all health checks and are clear of any genetic diseases - the seizure disorder is not your ordinary epilepsy. It causes the dog to chase it's own tail endlessly.. AND NOT BE ABLE TO STOP. They will chase their tail to the exclusion of everything else, and usually have to be put down to end their suffering.
Check out the Bull Terrier Club of America's homepage, find out if a Bull Terrier is really right for you, and if so, locate a QUALITY, RESPONSIBLE breeder in your area. You should know.. Bull Terriers are not common dogs. Good luck.
DON'T!
I have one I got for free. She is deaf, which is really common with white Bull Terriers. They really need to be the only pet in the house. People tend to dump them when they get older because it's not an easy breed to live with.
I think Target sells stuffed ones for $9.99. That would be a better deal.
