Where can I buy a reliable pet gate2007-11-25 2:54:14

I have a black lab with seperation anxiety problems. He continuously urinates on the same chair time abd again while my family and I are gone. Someone recommended we use pet gates to keep him out of that area while we're gone.

Where can I find reliable pet gates, that he won't be able to break or jump over? Or another product that would do the same under the same conditions?

As a lab owner, I think he'd destroy/jump over the gates. I'd recommend a hard plastic crate (that would be safest for him and your furniture) and Cesar Milan's book on dog psychology(http://cesarmillaninc.com/dogwhisperer/)...

Maybe think about reading "Marley and Me" too :-) It's about another troublesome, but lovelable lab.

You could probably find one at any reliable pet store like Petsmart or Petco. Another option would be to find some at an online store and order them and have them shipped to you. But that would take longer than just buying one your self. you might be able to find one also in a regular store that sells a variety of stuff like Wal-Mart or Mejier but those probably would not hold up.

It would be easier/ better to get a crate for him.. Then he has a safe place of his own, and it keeps him out of trouble while you are gone.

A Lab is going to be able to either knock down or jump over even the most expensive pet/baby gate. The type that you attach to the wall might work, if you don't mind having a permanent gate in your house.

Otherwise, get a crate.
