so if you want a small dog look for something like a yorkie or a chihuahua

to find a breeder may i suggest going to your local dog shows and ask the breeders you meet there about their dogs and their dog breed (normally if they show their dogs you can count on them being reputable)

finally i would also suggest staking out your local shelters, its always nice to save a life, and you can get a puppy to almost any age group in an adopted dog

A. Teacup anything is a made up term. The American Kennel Club and the parent breed clubs do not recognize "teacup" as a legitimate size. There are small toys. So selling them for more money is just a way to jump on the trend of toy dogs.

B. If someone is selling "teacups" they are not a legitimate breeder of purebred dogs.

C. Like was said by another poster, if you can't afford the price of the puppy, then you can't afford to raise the dog.

D. Toy breeds are prone to several issues, Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), Luxating Patellas (bad knees $1500-$3,000 to fix) and sometimes eye problems.
