It's legal for anyone to chip dogs in MI. You might want to check the laws in your state. Petfinder has a Petwatch 24 system that's good and reasonable.

I don't think I'm understanding the question correctly. If I am, that just doesn't make sense. You're a dog groomer so you think you're qualified to learn how to microchip dogs? That's basically a surgical procedure that the vet has to do for you.

talk to Home Again or Avid about that...I think it's great that you want to do that, but it is something a vet needs to do so you can avoid becoming liable fro what may happen.Some patients have really severe reactions to those chips and without a veterinary license, it just isn't a good idea!!Good luck!!

I micro-chipped my own farm animals, but I don't believe it is legal for you to do it to those belonging to others..I know it isn't legal to give vaccinations to animals that are not your own or your employer's..

My Avid chips were applied with a syringe, much as a vaccination..You must also have a reader, so it is expensive to begin.

Although microchipping is the best way to find lost pets, please do some research on the microchip itself. Some dogs are showing cancerous tumors around the chip. I won't microchip mine for this reason.
