Where can i locate a stud dog for my cocker spaniel ***** without having to pay a fortune2007-11-25 2:54:21

In my county there are four pounds. Each one takes in approx. 33 per day; that's 132 total EACH DAY. They don't have enough cages to even care for 2 weeks worth, let alone the constant stream they get coming in non-stop. They are euthanizing them almost as fast as they come in. And it gets to the people who have to do the job - they have to switch around because as kind as they try to be, the job eats away at them. All because irresponsible people decide to let their animals breed - and then don't want to bother with dealing with the results. What if you breed your dog, she has 6 or more puppies, and you are unable to find homes for any of them? Are you going to do the right thing and keep them? Are you going to 'use' the dogs to earn money? Is that your way of getting money without having to work for it? Don't make money off the enforced misery of others.

You want to have puppies sooooo badly that you'll just breed your b itch to any cocker that comes along as long as the price is cheap? That is very very sad.. You could be so selfish to risk your bitches life whelping a litter, just to breed to the cheapest cocker out there.. Good start on the bybing..

IF you are going to breed to produce ' better ' why would you give away first pick.. If you want to do better you would pay a stud fee for an absolutely to die for male and would keep pick of the litter for yourself.. Don't get ripped off, there are stud owners out there that are looking to make a quick buck off people like you.. Never give up the pick of the litter... OH WAIT.. Would you KNOW what the pick of the litter looks like???

'Whippet' has it spot on. If you need to ask because of money then you cannot afford to bring up a good quality litter! Have your dog neutered and enjoy each others company!

contact the kennel club to get a properly registered stud, it only costs you the price of one puppy and you can ask for the stud dogs full blood line pedigree so you don't inter breed, and check the stud is registered to be able to register your pups you need all these registration numbers and stud book numbers. hope this helps.
