Why did I get 2 thumbs down for my answer? Both of my dogs would have been put in the pound and probably euthanized if I hadn't have taken them. They are really great pets and very healthy. I also have had both of them fixed so they can't breed and bring more puppies in this world that no one wants.

I adopted my puppy from a dauchsand rescue place. I don't remember the name exactly. I find that adoption is the best way to get a dog. They need homes really bad. They need to know what it is like to have someone out there that actually loves them and treats them well.

Out of a dumpster. I drive a trash truck and dump dumpsters all day. When I got to the landfill at the end of the day I started to dump the trash out of my truck and a miniature Dachshund fell out.

There are so many breeders in the world, and if you want, that is where you can get one from, but when you go to get your puppy from the breeder, just remember that nearly a million dogs and cats are put to sleep dialy in the United States. Also, for every one puppy someone buys from a breeder, that can cost the life of at least two homeless animals. If you adopt one from the SPCA, humane society or your local shelter, it opens a spot for another homeless animal.

One from a reputable breeder, one is a rescued from a neighbor that had her chained in the backyard & neglected her.Two were born to a pair of Dobermans that I had. I still have the mother,but the male has gone to Rainbow Bridge.

Well,I decided I wanted to give a good home to a dog that had been mistreated. I wanted a female, young, but not a little puppy, and a large dog, but not huge. I opened the paper and there was advertised an 8 month old German Shepherd mix in need of TLC, she had been a hunting dog, but she was not good at it, so the ex owners kicked her around some and threw her over the fence into a ditch. She was picked up by a truck driver who knew them and brought to the city, where he gave her to a lady friend to find a new home for.. and she has been with me for about 4 years now.

The three Chihuahuas I was fostering the mom and she was pregnant and she had 4 beautiful little girls and and my Grandmother ended up adopting one of the babies and a friend of mine adopted one of them and I was wy to in live with them to let them all go so my husband and I talked it over and we adopted the mom and the other 2 pups. Our boxer was bought from a friend of mine, she shows her female and she bred her and unbelievably her female had 12 pups (WOW) so I would go ove and help her out with the pups and my 12 year old son used to go with me sometimes and he wanted this one boxer so bad. So he worked out a deal with my friend that he would help her out with th pups and clean up after them everyday after school and play with them and (she was selling the pups for $1,200. each) but she told him that he could work for her to pay part of it. I ended up paying $400. for her and he worked until they went to their homes. He would go over there everyday and stay as late as I would allow. She said he was great with the pups and the he earned it. So he got the pup he fell in love with and now shes going to be 2 in May and she is gorgeous and definately show quality but we did not want to have her ears cropped as I thought it was way to painful. We have a wonderful, beautiful family!
