Where did you get your dog from
There are so many dogs that need to be adopted from shelters all over the world, but people who buy dogs from breeders and dog stores, want puppies, which make them very selfish!!! There are dogs being put to sleep in shelters everyday, but your selfish readers who wrote they got them from breeders or puppy stores are selfish selfish selfish!
under a porch in the dead of winter.nieghbors of my friend..his female lab mix had 11 puppies during a bad winter they had no shelter expet the porch.at 4 and half weeks i went and asked him if i could have them all. he helped gather them up shove them in the old bonneville and off i went...i kept 2 and up the rest in the shelter...it was best for them...i worked there..they all got adopted. oh and one died the night before. poor thing.
In a rest area off the Interstate. I advertised, no one answered. She's a wonderful mixed breed.
I got one from a local breeder. The other two I got from my local animal shelter.
I'm on a waiting list for a Dalmatian puppy.
I'm getting him/her from a very well respected, registered and ethical breeder :-)
Shadow- From my niece. She was an abused stray that was dropped off on my nieces' porch. My niece had a newborn baby and three dogs already, so she asked us if we wanted Shadow.
Dio and Benson- Our local humane society.
I have two dachshunds, both purebreds. I watched the website for our local animal control (like the dog pound??) until I saw two listed, then ran down to see them. I came home with a beautiful 11 month old owner surrender mini doxie, a little female chocolate. I got her Nov 2004. Then, in Feb 2005, I was driving back from an appointment, and decided to stop in at our local Humane Society, which is a no kill shelter (which, unfortunately, not all are) just to check out what they had. I left there with a 7 month old female Piebald purebred female, also an owner surrender. They were moving and couldn't (wouldn't) take her. Her brother had already been adopted. She is considered a "tweenie" at just under 14 pounds. Both are true sweethearts.
I highly recommend checking with your local shelters, rescues, and Humane societies for dogs, cats, and yes, birds, bunnies and other animals. There are always purebreds available as well as the Heinz 57s. And instead of paying thru the nose for the "new designer breeds" (what moron thought this up??) go save a life of those accidently designed breeds.
You might not be able to buy love, but you sure can adopt it.
I adopted my dog from Adopt-a-Pet.
