Pinscher is a German word for "terrier." Although it is known that the Miniature Pinscher was developed in Germany, the breed's origins are unclear. The first recorded hint of it appears in a 17th-century painting, which shows a cat-sized red dog resembling the modern animal. Not a relative of the famed Doberman Pinscher, the Miniature Pinscher is, in fact, the older breed. Consensus holds that the Miniature Pinscher results from crosses between the German Pinscher, the Daschund and the Italian Greyhound.
They are not "miniture doberman pinschersh" as many people believe.
I have a min pin and I'd like to know that, too. All I really know is that she's not a Doberman Pinscher, but a breed of terrier.
So if you get a REAL answer, please let me know.
Thanks.
germany sweetie pie! :)
all dogs are bred to be the way that they are. crossed and bred for certain traits. from what i know about min pins, they were originally bred to catch rats. and the are actually the original, meaning that they came before the dobermen pinscher. they were actually bred to be bigger; the dobermens.
