Where to find
A Golden Retriever around Dayton, OH? I already looked at petfinder.com and they only have any puppies that I have to travel out of state or across the state to get. Can anyone help me?
Answers:Sometimes to get a quality Golden you have to travel a bit. It will be worth the time to go and seek out the best breeder of these beautiful dogs. Take your time and do your search correctly. Pick up a few paper from surrounding areas and call the breeders that have advertised their goldens. Make a list of what you want in a Golden, like color or if your want one for hunting or for a family pet. Temperment is the key with goldens. Find one that has been bred for temperment and you'll never regret the time it took to find a quality Golden.
Check the classifieds section of the newspaper for that area. Also, calling vets in the area might work. Smetimes they are aware of breeders in their area.
Have you looked to see if there are any breed rescue groups for this breed near you? I rescue n adopt out a certain breed myself so I know its a great way to find your dream dog and save a life at the same time.
There is probably a Golden Retriever Rescue in your area. Try looking for that. It would be great if you did that!
Sometimes on puppyfind.com they have more than just puppies and you can pay extra to have the dog flown to you and then you pick up at your local airport.
