Which Breed to choose Good with kids, small,calmetc2007-11-25 2:55:08

Here's a picture of one.this is probably a pup. They'll be just a little bigger, but not by much.

Border terriers are great but they will need a lot of exercise and will be very lively whileyoung and untrained but they make fantastic family pets. Alternatives are the Norfolk and Norwich terriers. Similar size but a bit calmer than the border.

I love the Maltese. The only downfall is grooming. They don't shed at all but must be brushed OFTEN or clipped short to prevent matting. Also, an teeny dog is in danger of getting hurt by little kids. You have to be careful with the kids.

chihuahuas are always nice i have 3 and they dont shed as much so if you want try those

try looking into shiba inus I don't think they shed and they don't bark. But I could be wrong.

Bichon Frise, non-shedding, hypoallergenic, even tempered, sweet natured dog. Great with the wee ones. I have one and she is great with my grandchildren. This type of dog, however, requires grooming which is about $50.00 per grooming on the average.

Oh stop! The answers! Just because someone asks how to do something doesn't mean they should.

Your children are far too young at 2 and 5 years of age to have a dog. Wait at least 4 years. Be fair and kind to a dog. You don't have any concept of what dogs require (you DID ask). Do your homework first. Don't saddle a dog with a 2-year old and a 5-year old that will be squealing and pulling on the dog.
