You have two toddlers. Aren't your hands full enough now? Dogs, even small ones, bring in dirt. Dogs get hair all over everything (even short hair). Dogs chew on shoes and vomit, and poop. Don't you have enough dirty diapers to deal with?
Just because a child oohs and ahhs at a pet store and says, "Mommy I want a puppy," doesn't mean you cave in to their demands and short attention span. You wouldn't feed them chocolate cake on demand, would you?
If you are looking for a perfect dog I would suggest you go to your local animal shelter and ask for help there. That's where I got my dog there and she's perfect.
