Since the food recalls I switched to Newman's Own. My 3 dogs and 1 cat love the stuff. It's organic and uses human grade ingredients. It costs more then the IAMS, but with premium type of food, you actually feed them less, and honestly, I'd rather have peace of mind and pay more.

I did research on this question last fall and switched my three dachshunds to Wellness. You are right that corn is bad for dogs. One of the reasons that I liked Wellness is that all of the ingredients are human grade and all are 100% natural. I use the Chicken Super 5 Mix, dry food and have been so pleased with it I add their can food with dry occas for a treat. They all have coats that shine. Wellness cost more but in the long run, it is said to decrease illness in your dog, so the cost is not that great when you figure it keeps them healthier. The place that I buy my food at has many different foods but the owner of the company says she uses Wellness also and feels it is the best of all that she sells.

I have a Dobermann, he gets raw meat and bones.

Lamb flap, chicken carcasses, necks, etc.

With the odd fishoil tablet and so on.

He's in excellent condition, so I highly recommend the BARF diet.
