Please adopt from a shelter and save a life, don't purchase from a breeder. The wesite listed above has dogs in shelters across america so you should be able to find one

cockers are great becuse they are little teddy bears and they dont bark alot, ususally very playful with children

another option is to go to a local shelter, and tell THEM all of this criteria you have for wanting a dog and maybe they can match you with the perfect dog for you.

the havanese they are toy sized but a big dog in a small pakage they are VERY playful.they will hardley ever bark.they love children and they know when they get to rough.they are very obedient.they are very easy to house brake .i have had my hava for a weeek and she is almost fully house trained heres a pic of one

Bichon Frise is a wonderful dog. they are a lap dog, they sleep usually on your bed at your feet, very easy to travel, and they love kids.

Hmm. That's a lot of demands, and unfortunately, I don't think that dog exists. Dogs under 20 lbs limit you pretty much to smaller terriers, and toy breeds. Neither of which are good for children under 12. Toy breeds are delicate, yappy, high strung, and can bite pretty hard if startled by a young child. Terriers are naturally nippy and I don't suggest them for any family with small children.
