They are about 17 lbs, active but not hyper, were bred to hunt by sight and they do NOT BARK. They yodel when excited.
Hair is short. They are cute and look like dogs.

I saw that you asked what kind of dog Toto was earlier. Carins are great dogs. They can be described as a large dog in a small body. They have lots of personality and for the most part are not lap dogs. They love affection, but do not demand affection like labs can. They are about 15 pounds full grown and get along with children. I researched the breed extensively before I got a Carin puppy. I would suggest reading "A New Owner's Guide to Cairn Terriers." If you do decide to get a Cairn - have patience they can be difficult to find.
