ps. everything they sell at walmart is crap, excuse my temperment, i see so many dogs and cats becoming sick cause of all the crap that is added to iams, purina, ol roy, etc. the first ingredient is CORN, meaning the majority of the product is that, then you see byproducts which are feet, feathers, beaks etc! and also those products are out for the money, they use the cheapest ingredients so they can make 8 dollars when they sell a 9 dollar bag of food.
Canidae or Wellness.
All human grade ingredients for US suppliers.
No corn, wheat (cause of allergies)
No wheat gluten or rice protein (cause of recalls)
No artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.
I feed my golden Canidae. I have big goldens. This food is all natural and contains no corn or wheat, soy or by products of any kind. I used to feed them another good food but after all the recalls started I did some research and asked alot of people and decided on the Canidae. My dogs love it an I dont worry any more.
I talk to a guy at Walmart and he says he sells a lot of IAMS.
Healthy Radiance is a great brand made by Purina.
Also Old Roy seems to be a good pick for a lot of people.
If your dog has a weight problem then Purina One Weight Control is a great food.
Usually the more it cost the better the ingredients.
Hi: After much ado, we've researched out a dry kibble called Prarie. It's a bit high-end, but our black lab loves it. It is rice based which is better than corn, and very digestible. It has everything needed to keep our dog healthy and happy. You can Google it and read for yourself
I try to avoid dog food that has high amounts of wheat and or corn. I avoid all dog food that has by-products and animal digest. That doesn't mean that a dog can't live a long healthy life on those ingredients; it's just my personal preference.
I feed raw to my dogs because it is better for them and keeps their teeth nice and white but I do supplement their diet with kibble when I get lazy and I use Canidae because it has four protein sources and it is100% human grade dog food with NO corn, wheat, soy, grain fractions, fillers or by products 鈥?and naturally preserved.
