which dog breed is perfect as a pet-being friendly,highly intelligent,alert,healthy and particularly suited to sweltering tropical climate?

I would say probably the German Shephard - at least as far as friendly, intelligent, etc. as long as you keep them well-groomed. They may not like the heat so much.

My in-laws have always gotten poms and they do not at all like strangers or anyone outside the family, for that matter. They bark and bark and bark and do not let people pet them. They're great with the family or people who are always around, but anyone else will have a problem with these dogs.

I don't know anything about the other one, though.

I think that german shepherds because they are loyal and great pets if you teach them to do tricks or jobs.I had a german shep that i didn't train and she was as stupid as a door(which she ran into more than once).But i think it all depends on what doghas a great personality.Meet with the different breed options that you have and see how well you like each dog of that breed.Then choose the one that you are attached to the most.

My choice is A. Why? because not only can you adopt those dogs from rescue organizations that work in India, but they live together in packs and live in a hot climbate.

Call local vets and ask them what breeds of dogs have the least medical issues locally. They would know which ones can handle the environment and which ones can't. For the other parts of your question- temperament and training are the only answers- you will need to check out breeders and see what type of temperaments their dogs have in general, and put the time into training your prospective dog to be the dog you want him/her to be. these websites should help, i know that german shepards can be a bit aggressive. pomeranians can be a little too feisty for a small child. pariah dogs are well tempered, but have an agressive side, i've babysat all three, and obtained 2 of the 3. DO NOT BUY FORM A PET STORE! THOSE DOGS COME FROM PUPPY MILLS! DON'T SUPPORT CRUELTY!
