good luck!

well if you getting a small dog they rend to be very loud barking at things that are bigger then them. I'd say go medium or if you have space a big dog. if you get a puppy*most people do) you will have to train it. (I can help more on that by e-mail) an older dog is probably more quiet and trained. I have a German Shepperd names "Roxy and shes a lab mix too. she ran around a lot at first but after a year she is great if she wants something she will sit for a hour before she barks like when she needs to go out and my dad is to sleepy to get up lol. and last but not lest it depends on the dog! some are more nice, playful, mean, in between then others. my dog loves people and dogs that are smaller and cats but will try to fight other bigger dogs and/or on the leash but that's just mine. ask if the dog has a background first.

GOOD LUCK HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVING TIME WITH YOU NEW FRIEND.

A trained dog. Yes it all depends on training and socialization. Dogs will only behave as they are taught to behave if you do nothing with the dog then expect an unruly dog that controls the house.
Try to find a dog that has already been trained. The animal shelter will tell you if a dog has been trained.Thats how i got my well behaved dog.
It sounds like you need more help than you realize! First of all, there is absolutely NO such thing as a breed of dog that is "the most well-behaved." Proper training is the key. The worst-behaved dog in the world can become a well-behaved dog with the right training.
