Do you think dogs like to walk on the same trail over and over so they can keep up with the neighborhood news? Or do they prefer going to new places and exploring?

both. going through the same path everyday would suffice, but if you go to a new place every once in a while, they'd like it. it will give them a chance to explore new places.

I think they like variation. I try to take my dogs to a different park from the last time, which can be hard but I think it keeps them interested and excited to go for a walk. Some days I throw the ball for them at a baseball field, some times I take them to the forest to hike, and other days I take them to the dog park to socialize. Though it's not necessary to do something different every time, I think they prefer to have a variation of locations to get excersize.
