a male or a female dog? and why?

i like male dogs more than females. males are funny and i think more affectionite. and very playful.

i think that female dogs are wanting to go after other dogs. they are loving but to me not as much as males.

i have a nieghtbor and they have a female rotti and she always goes after my chow. but i have owned 5 rotties(i think about half were girls), 3 pits(all males), and 3 chow(2 female and 1 male)

I have had my share of both and I prefer the males. They are less tempermental. The males are more loving, and sweeter. I have both and my males have more personality, they are goofy. My females is sweet but she has her moods and is not as affectionate as the males. But that is how all my females were.

i've only had male dogs and i've liked them all, the positive thing is that if you have a male dog, and it gets another female pregnant, you don't need to keep the babies, it's someone elses problem. no child support :)

I would rather own a fixed female dog. If not fixed then definitely a male dog, for obvious reasons. But I find female dogs are more protective and loyal.

If I didn't get a dog from the humane society I would prefer to get a male just because it's much easier to get him neutured than spade.
