I've always found my females to be intelligent, loving, and non-territorial. From Shi Tsu to Wolf Hybrid, they've all been tremendous companions.

I like males better. they are more playful! Females seem to lose that playfulness after they have a litter. You know how moms are! Plus males keep a more atheletic look, wheras females tend to get a bit stretched out after puppies and hanging boobies and whatnot.

Female.. I like the loyalty, the intelligence and the independence of the female. I don't find that they go after other dogs anymore than a male would or wouldn't. Socialize your dogs around other dogs if you want them to get along well with other dogs.

I find females don't NEED to be so close and follow you where ever you go.. Males tend to be clingy sometimes. Females mature faster than males...

Depends on what kind of dog you like.. I like a smart dog that can come up with their own ideas, knows how to get around the rules, figures things out, smart, not waiting to see what I think about everything. Males tend to look to you more for direction, females tend to already know what they are going to do and how they should act and react to things. I like the thinking dog..

If you are choosing a gender for a potential puppy then the sex doesn't matter. I have seen dogs that are male and female who are equally protective and equally bonded. It is the personality of the individual puppy/dog. Dogs have just as many personalities as people do. I tell you that one of my females is protective and will bark at strangers. The other female I have will not bark at anyone, loves everyone the same, but if someone broke into my home she would shread them to pieces. My male is calm and the girls are hyper. It is individual personalities. I prefer having females when I get new dogs because my male is altered and I know the females wont get pregnant with him. Since I show I can't fix my girls until they are finished. Because of this I just get one sex only. Neither is really better than the other to me.

I live by this rule... women should have male dogs and men should have female dogs... Why? I just find overall that opposites work better together. That is not to say I wouldn't have a female dog but I have had more success with males as far as training and compatibility. I have 2 male dogs and a female dog... I love them all but overall I have a stronger bond with the males and my female dog had a far stronger bond with my brother. I find male dogs to be more trainable, more obedient and far less stubborn. My female dog though is way more calm, dignified and easy-going. Other females I have known were less so.. I have found female dogs to be more dog-aggressive especially female Rottweilers.. they seem to be very pushy and stubborn.. great dogs but very independant and flippant. In most females that I have known there was always this aloof attitude and they seem to gravitate more to men and respond better to men as far as commands and obedience as well as affection. I would get either sex of dog but as far as preference goes I do prefer male dogs to female dogs.. I tend to have a stronger bond and a better repoire with male dogs. You may also notice if a family has a male and female dog the females tend to gravitate to the man of the house and the males tend to gravitate towards the women of the house... its just the way it is.

Female because my friend has a male dog and his cousin has a female and he smells like tht dog so when he comes over the dog follows him and when his cousin sits down the dog jumps on him and starts going up and down *u know wht its doing*

I prefer females, every female that I have had has been total little love balls, I have known people who have had males, and they are the same but seem like they are more problems, like hiking their legs and peeing being a ittle too agrressive, etc. I have had cocker spaniels female and a lab female, all have been the most loyal and lovable dogs ever.
