White dog ticks

My dog has a thing stuck to her, it looks like a tick but it's white, is it likely to be a tick? And can I burn it off with a cig?
I can take her to the vet but not until tomorrow, wanted to get it off her now.

pull it off,, DO NOT BURN ANYTHING ON YOUR DOG!! make sure it isn't a skin tag or something...
Sounds like a tick. Smother it in Vaseline or other sticky ointment and it will suffocate and in about 10 minutes you should then be able to pluck it off.
Use Frontline for the summer months especially as, although expensive, it works!
no dont burn it off u mite burn the dog, and dont pull it off cos it leaves the head under the skin and causes an infection, just leave it, and take it to the vets, they kill it and have a special way of getting them out. one tick wont do it any harm for the night, just make sure shes fed and watered like usual. i vaugly remember something about vasaline but i cant really remember what, just leave it if i were you, but whatever you do dont burn it.
yes get some tweezers and grab it by the head, then pull it off. make sure you kill the thing! do not just throw it in the garbage or flush it down the toilet, ticks are tough and can live through almost anything/ Get some Frontline from your vet or give your dog a bath often
