Who uses, or has used, Nutro dog food2007-11-25 2:55:14

I will be getting a Golden Retriever puppy, in a few weeks, and am considering feeding him Nutro food. Has anyone fed this food to their dogs? What results have you had?

Answers:

Nutro is on the recall list for many of it's products. Aside from that, it is crapinabag. Lots of grains and fillers. Research raw feeding or look for something that is more natural. Don't look at the commercials and the names or the words 'premium' etc. Look at the ingredients and know what they mean. There are all kinds of helpful websites to help you figure out and grade dog food.

I recently switched my Golden puppy to Nutro Ultra Large Breed puppy. I think it is great!

She likes the food... I always had to add something to the old stuff to get her to eat it.

Her coat already looked nice, but I think it looks even better now.

The trainer at Petsmart said that Nutro Ultra was in her Top 3 brands she recommends (Blue Buffalo and Avoderm were the other 2).

My puppy is less gassy than she was on the old stuff... but the only drawback is that she poops more.

Nutro Natural Choice is ok, but the Ultra line is better. Nutro Max is not that great... slightly better than Iams. The Nutro Ultra is pricey, but it is more nutritious and you don't need to feed your puppy as much of it as you do the lesser brands.

I do not think it is a very good food and since it was a recalled brand I would not trust it.
