Who will win highly trained police german shepherd, or pitbull2007-11-25 2:55:15

i know dog fighting is wrong but im jus curious people say a pitbull will likely win cause of there strong jaws but i think a german shep will win cause they also have strong jaws ,quick and agile,bigger and can be really aggresive at times.i mean think about it why do police mostly use german sheps instead of pit

Ok, a loaded question. A shepherd will not stand a chance against a pit that comes out of bloodlines that produce fighting dogs. The shepherd simply lacks "gameness" and the pit has it in spades. Also, the police use shepherds, who by the way, really do bite and hold a suspect, unlike what someone else said, because they used to be a very versatile breed before they stuck their heads in the confirmation toilet. The police do not use the pit, who although would make a great police dog and he will out, because of the stigma associated with the breed.

They do not want to hurt the people that they are after...just stop and hold them until the police get to the person. Pit bulls are not reliable, and you cannot ever trust one to bite and not do damage. The police don't want a maimed person to take to the hospital. They want to stop someone and take them to jail.
