Why do people say "Sh*t zoo" instead of how its properly pronounced "Sheet Zoo"? Even people that own them don't say it properly. Same with Bishons. People call them Bich-ons. When you look at the spelling of Shih Ztu, were does it look like "sh*t" is in there?

Answers:

Why do people who breed German Shepherds spell it Shepard or Shephard? Because they didn't bother doing enough research on the breed before getting one. It isn't hard to look up the correct spelling or pronunciation of a dog's breed but some people just don't make that effort.

shih tzu's acceptable spelling is also Shitzu which causes a lot of the pronounciation differences. Some people get confused when they see the Shi* in Shitzu

Its like toe-may-to vs. to-mah-toe.

neither is really wrong, its going to fall on preference.

Some believe the differences in pronounciations start from the way various accents pronounce the words.

But still, what matters more than saying Sheet zoo vs. Shi* zoo is how these dogs are cared for.

I'm more worried about that than minor speech differences.
