Why are you afraid//////////2007-11-25 2:55:44

Most of my neighbors are deadly afraid of my dogs (I have 3 ABPTs). They've tried everything and anything to attempt and have my dogs taken away from me simply because they're 'pit bulls'. No matter what you and I or anyone else does we probably will never be able to convince others of what we've already realized.

But that gives us no reason to stop trying. :)

People are afraid because of all the media hype. The problem is the owners, not the dogs.

Every time a serious bite incident happens, the dog gets automatically reported as a pit bull, Rottie, etc. When, in most cases, the reporter wouldn't know a pittie if he fell over it.

I'm not afraid of Pit bulls. They are like any other dog, the owners are the ones that are responsible for making Pits mean. I had one once and he was the sweetest dog ever, I always had cats. This dog would let my cats and kitten run all over him and never hurt them. I had 10 at the time (cats or kittens. Maybe he felt unnumbered.

Never been around a Chow, but the only dog I'm afraid of is the Chihuahua they bite your ankles, it hurts!

Pits have a bad name because bad breeders often pair dogs with bad temperaments to make mean spirited, badass puppies (mostly Pit Bulls) to satisfy a strong market for such dogs.
