Why do English Bulldogs cost so much
Why do English Bulldogs cost so much2007-11-25 2:55:50Answers:
#1) Because they are purebred and AKC registered (or should be)
#2) Because this is a breed that cannot "breed" on it's own - requires human intervention; artificial insemination and c-sections, as a rule. Both of those drive up the price of the pups - it's going to be added on and passed along.
because most pure bred dogs cost well over 1,000 dollars
They are a highly repitable dog. Most that cost so much are properly bred for the right reasons, and that pretty much guarentees a show dog.
the really expensive dogs are pure breeds.
they cost so much because they have been selectively bred.
pure breds often have a lot of problems with eyes, joints, because they only have a small gene pool to breed with.
might be better to get a half or quater cross.
makes a hardier animal
i bought one last december and he was 1300 please do not buy one if u cant afford to go to the vet all the time... they come with a medical history no matter how much u pay for them. they cost that much because it is very hard to breed a bulldog.. the mama has to have a seasection and it is so hard on her body, just the medical alone is allot!! altho these dogs are great pets, they come with a BIG $ sign when it comes to vet bills!!! BE WARE ITS GONNA COST U!
They are expensive because to breed them they are one of the few breeds that HAVE to be artificially inseminated. They also have to be delivered by C-section. There is alot of cost in getting a litter of these puppies and that is why they usually go for around $1400-$2000 per pup.
Are you thinking about getting one? Are you an active person? These are not active dogs. Be very careful if you decide to get any purebred dog. English Bulldogs can have a lot of health problems, and to get one who's pedigree is clear of such problems, will cost you upwards of 4 grand or more, depending on the area you are from of course.
My husband and I have owned a bulldog for the past five years and thank the heavens above, she has proved to be a joy in our lives - very little or no vet bills outside the semi-annual visits for shots, etc.. We also have her bathed and groomed once a month which costs $45 on average. Compare that expense to the comic relief and love that she provides on a daily basis - I'd say she's well worth it.
