None of my chis have ever done that... they will dig at their bedding like someone else said but thats it... smthg else is going on there.. most of the time when dogs are being destructive its bc they are not getting enough exercise... while chihuahuas dont need long walks like bigger dogs they do need some way to exhaust some of their energy.. try letting him run outside some each day or playing w him/her.. anything to let him get some of that energy out.. lots of luck to you

I have 6 chi's and none of them has ever done that. Sometimes I will see them digging at their bedding, or on the couch. Not tearing it up, but thats how they make "bedding" for themselves. Digging on the wall, thats not really normal. If your verbal commands to stop aren't working, you can get a spray from your local pet store to spray on any surface that they are digging on, or you may even consider obedience school. Chi's are some of the most loyal, loveable animals out there.but they can almost be very stubborn!

There could be several reasons for this. The most common one is boredom. It could also be trying to get to something in the wall, such as a rodent.

Try keeping it contained in a small room or crate when you can't be there to supervise it. The best thing to do is to talk to your vet. He/she can give you answers and trim your dogs nails.

Boredom, frustration, or to get rid of extra energy. My dog did that and we started exercising her more and giving her new toys (buy a bunch of toys, split them in half and then alternate them so they seem new). I also bought a KONG to chew on and it all really helped. Good luck.
