Why do dogs roll over and squirm on bugs2007-11-25 2:55:22

I have had three different breeds of dog, an American Eskimo, a Doberman and a mutt. Each one has acted the same way with bugs. Wassup?

Answers:

they like the smell... I have hunting dogs that roll in other animals urine, and they roll on small dead animals that they find.

well u see pets get irriated by bugs just like us
Yup, it's the smell. They also like dead fish and manure. Not much you can do!!!
Dogs don't like to smell like dogs. It's instinctive to try to mask there smell with something "non-threatening" like bugs, mud, manure, etc.
