there are a few reasons dogs shake.like us when we are cold...but most common little dogs shake for fear, anxity, nervous about something they shake more cause well thier small and if they are not the yappy kind of small dog then they shake. for some its more of a habit because they get attention for it.

my big dogs shake like leaves on a tree at the vet they drool so their nervous.

Heated Kitty Pad Cover.we had a big lab once at the shelter i don't think i have ever seen a dog more scared and nervous he drooled so bad that the paper in the cage was SOAKED through. and he just sat and shook all over...luck for him he was my neighbors dogs and i called them first thing.

cause they loose body heat fast. their heart beats faster therefore the body heat gets lost .

I feel confident I can provide the proper answer. I own a 16 month old female Chihuahua. She shakes like a crack whore in church when she is AFFRAID. I'm surprised I don't have to sweep up parts falling off. This effect is most noticed when she goes trucking with me. And I drive safely, with courtesy. It's an inherant factor in their DNA. Also, it was 80 degees, and she wasn't cold.

Why do little dogs shake?Most likely they are either cold or frightened. If you were only 12" tall, you'd be scared of a lot of things too.

Not all do. I have a pug, a cairn, a beagle, a pom, and a chi and none of them ever shake, unless it is the dead of winter and they are walking in the snow.
