Why do people keep breeding Pitbulls when everywhere is banning them

Any dog can be bad when the owners are bad. There are shitty back yard breeders everywhere breeding more and more pits. I just went one craigslist and I counted 68 adult pits that people needed to find homes for, I used to work at the Humane Society and every day we put down at least 3 adult pits. Yet as of today there were 17 people in the Oregonian selling pit pups. Now please don't get me wrong, they are great dogs, but should you really be selling puppies that have more than a 50% chance of being put down as a young adult. Breeders are supposed to be responsible, this is not responsible and there is no way that you can gaurantee that any dog will stay with the owner you sell it to forever, but pits have a much lower chance of that. Help save these poor babies. Stop breeding them!!! Now lets see the responces

I work in rescue, I have seen the aftermath of a pit fight, and it scares me. I love pits, they are great if they are owned by responsible people.

I dont think banning is the way to go, I do however wish that you had to have a license to own these dogs. Prospective owners would have to go through a training class BEFORE adopting, and be required to spay and neuter their pets, and be required to finish obedience class.

There is demand for these dogs by the WRONG people and are getting the 'supply' from backyard breeders, breeding to make money with no reguard to the life of the puppies will have, if they make it past two years old. (After a life of fighting or being bait dogs, or being under trained by people who didnt know what they were getting into and they got in over their heads)
