Why does my dog keep barking repeatedly for no reason2007-11-25 2:56:07

There is nothing, no cars, people, other dogs,or anything else she might bark at. I yell for her to stop but it doesn't work, any ideas?

To YOU, there may not appear to be a reason for your dog's barking -- but, to HER there IS a reason.or she wouldn't be barking. Like, babies don't cry for no reason -- they have a reason, but can't communicate it to you, so they cry/bark. So, you need to be the investigator, try to solve the puzzle, and figure out what she's "talking" about. Your vet should be able to eliminate any health/pain issues. She may hear other dogs barking, children playing, or there's a squirrel trespassing on "her" turf. Maybe she's bored and/or just wants your attention. Whatever the case, there IS a reason.

I would take it to a vet. Sometimes there is a problem inside and they only way they can let you know about it is by barking. I recently read a story about an owner had tried a new food and once she switched back to the regular food, her dog stopped barking all the time. Go see the vet. Otherwise I would consider if you have made any changes in her life recently. Have you moved, a member of the family left, another animal died, changed her diet or schedule of when you are home?
