kinda vague, but im guessing you mean "pooping" by messing? haha. anyways...you need to house train it. if its a puppy it will be easier, if its grown it will be much harder. you just need to take it outside often and praise it when it goes bathroom outside, like giving him treas. if he does it again inside...show it to him and firmly say bad dog. please dont hit your dog. its just cruel.

if he does it while your out, you may need to put him inna room or cage...just until he learns that he needs to go outside

my dog does it when shes feeling a bit left out. its not even because i dont walk her, and the door is always open to the back door. its just her way of telling me shes a bit peed off

You dont say how long uve had ur dog for so i can only guess, usually if an animal messes in the house there are reasons, such as, 1)new home 2) bad past 3) illness 4)old age 5)stressed or worried, if none of these are correct try just casually ringing ur vet for advice, or another good way which i did myself, is ring ur local dog warden based at ur local council, speak to them on the fone and ask if they know of any good dog training sessions, if cash is a prob which it was in my case they will put you in touch with someone who will do it on the cheap, as little as a pound a session!

I have a puppy of 15 weeks and he does it. I take him out all the time and he wont go outside the garden , not sure why.
